New York City Trip Deadline Approaching

The deadline is fast approaching for registration for the 4-day trip to New York City this fall!

Don't miss out on this awesome opportunity. Open to all families and students at Gloucester High School, the Theatre Program is taking a 4-day tour of New York City over Columbus Day Weekend in October.

During these four days, we will receive guided tours of some of the most famous attractions in New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, Radio City Music Hall, and the 9/11 Memorial. We will also have a chance to see two (2) Broadway shows and have the option to participate in two (2) different theatrical workshops, lead by professionals in the industry!

To secure a spot, you must register no later than Thursday, February 26th with a $100 deposit. You can register online at www.gerbertours.com through the PARTICIPANTS button in the top right corner. The GHS Tour ID code is 26429 and the Online Tour Code is F8C7A94C.

Any student who has participated in the GHS Theatre program this school year (Fall or Spring show), the GHS Theatre Boosters will cover $200 of the quad cost. This leaves a balance of $757. Students can then fund-raise up to HALF ($378) of the remaining balance through events hosted by the Drama Club and Boosters. The remaining balance is the responsibility of the student. Gerber has said they are willing to work with students regarding installment payment plans. The Boosters are also exploring scholarship options for students on free or reduced lunch.

Vacation Set Build: FRIDAY

Thanks to everyone who came to set build yesterday and today! We've gotten a lot done.

Due to the low number of students who signed up for tomorrow FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20th we will not be having set build. It would not be productive or safe for so few people to attempt what we need to get done.

Please keep in mind that after vacation is over, there is only 17 hours of set build left! Actors, make sure you're getting in your required hours!

Tuesday Set Build

Due to the poor weather forecast both at the start and end of set build, we WILL NOT be having a tech day tomorrow.

While I know it's only supposed to be a few inches, the roads are still not great due to the storm over the weekend and I would rather everyone stay home safe.

I hope you will join us on Wednesday from 10am-2:30pm for the next set build!

New York City Trip

The GHS Theatre Program is planning a New York City trip for four days in the Fall 2015 over Columbus Day weekend. We are very excited to offer this experience to the students and families of Gloucester High School, and hope to make it a core part of the theatre program, just as the Docksiders performance trips and JROTC Drill Daytona Trip are a core parts of their programs.

On WEDNESDAY, February 11th from 7pm-8pm in the Cafeteria at the high school, the GHS Theatre Boosters will be hosting an informational meeting for parents and students interested in the trip. At this meeting we will give more information regarding price, sign-up deadlines, and fundraising.
If, for whatever reason, you and/or your student are unable to attend this meeting but would still like to attend the trip, please contact Ms. Ruggles (jruggles@gloucester.k12.ma.us) as soon as possible so she can pass along the important information. Additionally, if you know of any students or parents at GHS who would be interested in this trip opportunity, please invite them to attend the meeting as well.

Thank you! And we look forward to seeing you at the meeting on Tuesday!
